On the mouth of the River Mersey lies the city of Liverpool. Four lads grew up here and formed the most successful group in the history of popular music. They performed in Mathew Street, a lane of a street in the centre of town and it rocked to the Merseybeat. Liverpool still rocks to its own beat and it is very proud of its famous sons. There are several attractions to commemorate them. (details below) includiing BEATLES WEEK at the end of August.
