TINTAGEL CASTLE

With its spectacular location facing the full force of the Atlantic on one of England's most dramatic coastlines Tintagel Castle is place of many legends. The gaunt remains of the medieval castle probably dating from 13c represents just one phase in its long history. Even before Richard, Earl of Cornwall built his castle here Tintagel was associated with the birthplace of the great legendary King Arthur.

On Tintagel Head .5 along uneven track (no vehicles). Tintagel is off A39 on the north Cornwall coast about 20 miles west of Launceston. Rail: Bodmin Parkway - then bus 122 or 125

Steep climbs and uneven roads. Probably unsuitable.

TREBAH GARDEN

Description:
This magical old Cornish garden is one of the finest in the world. The 25 acre steely wooded ravine garden falls 200 feet from the 18c house down to a private beach on Helford River. A stream cascading over waterfalls through ponds of giant Koi car winds through 2 aces of blue and white hydrangeas, then sills out over the beach.

TRENGWAINTON GARDEN

TRERICE

Description:
A delightful, small, secluded Elizabethan manor house, built in 1571 with an early gabled facade. containing fine fireplaces, good plaster ceilings, oak and walnut furniture and clocks. The summer garden has unusual plants and a small museum traces the development of the lawn mower.

TRELISSICK GARDEN

Description:
Trelissick overlooks the great expanse of Carrick Roads, one of the finest maritime views in Cornwall. This young garden is planted with an abundance of rhodedendrons, hydrangeas and camellias. It is surrounded by sweeping parkland and woods which are open all year.
