THE VYNE

A house of diaper brickwork dating to Henry V111. It was extensively altered in 17c when John Webb added the earliest classical portico to a house in England. Members of the public are invited to attend Choral Evensong at 5:30pm every Tuesday during the College term.

New Hall
Completed in 1961, New Hall is one of the youngest listed buildings in Britain on account of its scheme of 17th century carved wooden panelling, once part of the College Chapel. The hall has a raised orchestra stage complete with concert grand piano, and can seat 536, making it an ideal venue for conferences, lectures, and theatrical and musical performances.

School
This redbrick schoolroom was built between 1683 and 1687, and is reputed to have been designed by Sir Christopher Wren while he was in Winchester building a palace for Charles II. This is where all the teaching took place until individual classrooms were constructed in 1870, and the arrangement of ‘thrones’ for the masters and benches for the boys can still be seen at the west end. As a large, openplan room, School is the perfect location for receptions, dinners, seminars, exhibitions, and recitals. It has a banquet capacity of 150 and can accommodate up to 350 for a buffet or drinks reception.

College Hall
The original Scholars’ dining room, with its 16th century panelling, high timber ceiling, and fixed benches and tables, makes an atmospheric setting for dinners, lectures, and themed events. It has a banquet capacity of 180.

Warden’s Lodgings
With a façade designed by G S Repton, a beautiful oak panelled drawing room, and an intimate dining room, the Warden’s Lodgings is a unique location for small focus meetings and elegant dinners for up to 22
