The 80 yard embroidery illustrates British history from
1066. It has 27 panels and depicts 81 events. Presently in the town
hall its move is imminent - probably to the White Rock Theatre.

Various exhibits ranging from local wildlife to north
American Indian culture. Also Durbar Hall (entry through the museum).
Indian Palace ooriginally built by Indian craftsmen for the colonial
and Indian Exhbition of 1886. It is used to house the museum's
collection of Oriental and primitive art collected by Lord Brassey on
his voyages around the world.
