OLD SARUM

This great earthwork was built by iron age peoples around 500 BC and was taken over by succeeding settlers and conquerors. Today the remains of the prehistoric fortress, of the NormAn palace, castle and cathedral evoke powerful memories of the people who have ruled England over the millennia.
