Beautiful nature reserve spreading over 250 acres,encompassing Forests,rivers, lakes,mini waterfalls,wooded gorges,grassland and nature trails.
This is one of Londons last undiscovered paradises.Tourists are, surprisingly, oblivious to this hidden gem and often pass it without taking much notice.You can breathe fresh air despite its close proximity to the main road.Probably the best feature of the place are the mini waterfalls and the opportunities in the summer to go on guided tours with park rangers to see ponies, deer,foxes,squirrels badgers rabbits,water shrew and even mink.There are also chances to see Herons and Kingfishers in the summertiome as well as rare glimpses of the Adder,Britains only poisenous snake!
Location: At Cockfosters road,Cockfosters N14 2EY spreading over to Bramley Road, Oakwood N14 2NG. Nearest roundabout: Cat Hill (off Bramley Road) No major car parks except near the main road, Chalk Farm (N14) and inside the park. Coach parking provided.
Opening: Open 9.00 am closing 7.00 pm from September until May. Open late until 9.30 pm in the summertime. Closed December.
Disabled: Partial disabled access with special vans provided and disabled parking arrangements near front entrance.
Prices: £4.00 adults coming in through car. Free entry on foot.
