Tower of London
The Tower is probably the greatest example of Norman military architecture in the world. It is amazingly preserved. It was established by William the Conqueror and for most of its history has been a prison and or an armoury. It was here that Henry V111 had two of his wives executed. It has many legends and traditions which are on display to the visitor. The Jewel Room houses the spectacular crown jewels. It has some nasty little dungeons including the The Little Ease, a dark unventilated cell just 4' by 4'.
