Soho
This ancient hunting
ground gets its name from 'So ho' an ancient hunting cry.
Commercial building began here in the 1600's and gathered
pace when immigrants, mainly French Huguenots and Greek
Christians, settled here.
It is a somewhat cramped area and very lively, yet it retains a cosmopolitan village like atmosphere. It has many world class restaurants and also a number of good reasonable priced ones Along with all of this co-habits strip clubs (much more discreet these days) specialty deli's and film people. Soho is a main centre of the British film industry with many cutting rooms, sound and special effects studios.
