Victoria
Although in close
situ to Westminster Abbey and Westminster Cathedral Victoria
doesn't have much of a notable history apart from the 300
year old Stag Brewery, now demolished. It was a low lying
swamp area visited by the poor and by criminals. It was
mainly developed in the 19c Victorian boom.
Today it is a travellers terminus with the large Victoria mainline station for routes to the south east, timetable, and the Victoria Bus Terminal that has coach routes to all parts of England Scotland and Wales.
Victoria is the land of the civil service with many large government buildings including the Home Office, Passport Office and of course Scotland Yard.
