Abergavenny
Situated in a very beautiful spot on two rivers, historically Abergavenny has guarded a strategic
valley corridor between the Brecon Beacons and the Black
Mountains. The town was an important Roman fort. The town
entered a 200 year period of notoriety when William, a
Norman baron - had a banquet for local Welsh notables in
Abergevanny Castle. He had them slaughtered while they ate. The castle is now a ruin and the owner of the castle become
baron of Abergavenny.
