Lying on the river Don, site of a Roman station, Doncaster was a busy agricultural town during the middle ages and was granted a royal charter in 1194. Doncaster has a surprisingly rich history - waiting to be discovered and has one of the three remaining mansion houses in the country. Many people remember Doncaster as a busy junction in the locomotive days. It is a town that has succeeded in adapting to the times and the Earth Centre is a testament to this.
