UK Tour guide, index

Luton became prosperous through hat making and although this still goes on it is the giant Vauxhall plant which dominates the industry in town. The town has one of the largest and magnificent churches in the country which dates back to the 13c. Nearby are the fine stately homes of Luton Hoo, Hatfield House and Knebworth. Luton airport is a hub for charter and bargain flights, mainly to Europe and the U.K. A direct rail link into the town should be ready within a few months. At present a shuttle bus runs the station to airport and charges a few pounds. (Luton Airport info, CLICK HERE)
