Norwich
Situated on the river Wensum the county town of Norfolk,
regional capital of East Anglia and HQ of Norfolk county
council assumed great importance before and after the Norman
conquest of 1066. Soon after a great Norman castle was
established and to this day the cathedral and the castle
(some say it is second only to the Tower of London) are the architectural centre points of the city. The city is a big
entertainment centre for East Anglia and also an agricultural one. Colmans (famous for English Mustard) is located here as is Anglia Television. The University of East
Anglia is a world resource for anyone delving into East
Anglia studies.
