Britain's fifth largest city is famous for its steel now produces more than ever before. It also has an international reputation for sport with some of the best facilities in Europe. It was here that soccer was born and Sheffield is the site of the U.K Sports Institute. Although not the most beautiful city architecturally Sheffield is a rugged hilly city (it is built on seven large hills) and has over 50 parks. It is big on music, housing the National Centre for Popular Music, and has hundreds of bars, nightclubs and restaurants. It is also a good location for conferences and exhibitions with its large, modern conference facilities.
