St. Alban's
St Albans is a very pretty town, just 15 miles north of London, and has much to see with history from different periods. Verulamium (as it originally was) being the third largest city in Roman Britain. The theatre (see below) and many other impressive Roman remnants can be found. In AD 61 the town was set alight by Boadicea and then rebuilt. The original Saxon abbey was dedicated to St. Alban, the first christian martyr of England.
