Witney Witney is the Old Fashioned Town of the song by Leonora Harris. It is old. Several Iron Age settlements have been discovered nearby. Witenie is mentioned in the Domesday Book and King Edgar signed a land charter for the town in AD969. It is a most charming and typical Cotswold town. |
